1974, June 16, the cornerstone is laid. Money is once again raised, and all furnishings are donated.
The organ is purchased from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burholme.
November 24 the building is dedicated.
In the first two years in Somerton, 231 new members join the congregation. Services continue
in Frankford. A school bus is purchased to transport those members in Frankford to Somerton
for activities and worship. Pastor Haug helps to organize the German community in
Philadelphia. Immanuel German School is created, with Pastor Haug as Principal.

1980 There is a congregational trip to Europe, ending with the Oberammergau play.
September 14 Pastor Haug suffers a massive cerebral hemorrhage and dies. Pastor John
Schweitzer, the Associate Pastor of Immanuel, becomes Senior Pastor. Marianne Haug is named
Principal of the German school.
1987 The 175th anniversary of the church is celebrated.
1992 The 200th anniversary of the church is celebrated. Plans are made to enlarge the church
complex with new office space, a handicapped accessible bathroom, an elevator, an entrance
ramp, a new parlor and expanded narthex, a pantry room, and a choir room.

1999 The German school needs more space, and moves to Lower Moreland High School. Marlene
Stocks becomes principal.
2000 The Bell tower is erected, and the bells are first rung on Easter Sunday.

2013 November, Pastor Schmidt-Lange retires. Pastor Richard Mathison is appointed as Interim
Pastor.
2016 Pastor Norbert Hahn is installed as Pastor. During his tenure as Pastor, he helps the
congregation become more involved in and more inviting to the Somerton community, helpingt
them to create many community events to which people are invited with no charge. He also
gets the congregation involved with events of the Lower Bucks Conference, and their
neighboring Lutheran congregations. They navigate their way through Covid.
2017 The 225th anniversary of the congregation is celebrated with various events throughout the
year.
2023 Pastor Hahn retires. The council and worship team create a single bilingual worship service in
the absence of a bilingual pastor. Before the arrival of their Interim Pastor in March of 2024, the
council also creates a mission, vision, and goal statement for the coming years.
2024 The fiftieth anniversary of the building in Somerton and the German school are commemorated.
