The purpose of the Immanuel church family is "to connect people with God and with other people to make a difference." God's love is shared in practical ways by supporting projects and programs that assist people in need locally, nationally and globally. You can make a difference here! The Immanuel faith community--located in the Somerton section of NE Philadelphia-- connects people with God primarily through Sunday worship when the love and mystery of God is celebrated in three different services: in English (9:30 AM and 6:30 PM) and in German (11:00 AM). Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper) is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of the month and on special holidays. Join us! Various groups, classes, teams and events provide opportunities to meet people, build relationships, grow spiritually, and enjoy life together. There is room for you!
Please always double check the current calendar of events about start times as weather-related concerns or special events may necessitate changes.

German Unity Day
Who can forget the images that dominated the news about 31 years ago: the coming down of the wall between East and West Berlin, the end of the iron curtain between East and West Germany? A year later, Germans on both sides of the old line that separated them celebrated their unity. “German Unity Day” (“Tag der Deutschen Einheit”) is observed in Germany as a national holiday on October 3.
This year, Immanuel is partnering with two other German-speaking congregations on the East Coast (in Washington, DC and in New York City) for an online worship experience (in German and English) to mark that occasion. A high-ranking official from the German diplomatic community, who experienced the fall of the wall and the subsequent events as a young boy, will share personal recollections. Pastors Hahn and Eberle will join Bishop Ortiz of the Washington Metro Synod for a dialog sermon. There will be music from Dresden, prayers, and more. To view this video
