Pastor William Shafer (2001-2003)
After the departure of Pastor Schweitzer in September, 2001 the Immanuel congregation began searching for a qualified bilingual pastor. The pastoral call committee was tasked in finding someone to fill this vacancy. The Lutheran Synod supplied Pastor William Shafer to meet our pastoral.
During the next two years, Pastor Shafer learned the intricacies of the English and German congregation. In this interim Pastor and his wife Marie gained many friends at Immanuel. He contributed much to the life of Immanuel Lutheran Church and helped the congregation find insight into new directions for the church.
In appreciation of his dedicated service to Immanuel Lutheran Church the members gave him a plaque and monetary gift at the farewell celebration.
