Immanuel celebrated its 225th Anniversary in 2017

Picture
Immanuel was founded on April 4, 1792.  Joseph J. Miller, a Philadelphia merchant, and his wife Elizabeth sold a parcel of land to a group of German farmers "...as a site for a house of religious worship and a schoolhouse for the use of the German Lutheran Congregation of the township of Oxford,,," The "small stone structure" that was built no longer exists, but the original cornerstone is on display in the parlor of our present building.

Check out our History Pages. Find out who we are, where we came from and what we have accomplished.

To honor Immanuel's 225 years of ministry and mission we set a goal  to donate $2.250.00
($10.00 for each year of the congregation's life) to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod's
"
Forward Together in Faith” campaign. Actual donations received totaled $7103.50.

Celebration Service with The Rev. Claire S. Burkat
Bishop of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA.

40 Days of Anniversary Prayer
Between the two celebrations of our 225th Anniversary
(September 17 and October 29), there are exactly 41 days.
Every member and friend of the congregation was asked to pray for
40 days for our members and friends, for our blessings,
for God’s leading, for our future, and more.
(The extra day was a make-up day.)

Prayer changes things!

Prayer cards are available on campus or

October 29, 2017
After a celebratory bilingual (English/German) service we held a Celebration Meal at Cannstatter Volksfest-Verein. A sumptuous meal was served and presentations on Immanuel's history and Martin Luther and the Reformation was given.
